Catherine Bloom is a very kind, but very strict woman. When she first meets Trowa, she already realizes Trowa isn't afraid to die and that he begs for his death. As a circus entertainer, she isn't really in any potential danger. However, since Trowa is a Gundam pilot himself, he sometimes brings the battlefield to the circus itself. Whenever she's not in any potential danger, Catherine is usually entertaining people with her circus group and is usually paired with Trowa. After Catherine finds out Trowa is a Gundam pilot, she wants to protect him at all times. She refuses to let him return to the battlefield.
Even though Catherine doesn't approve of Trowa being a Gundam pilot, she does realize that he cannot avoid his duties. She discovers that he is acting on his emotions, something that Heero had taught him. Cathy allows Trowa to return to the battlefield, even in his amnesiac state. As Trowa continued fighting, Catherine waits for him to return to her and protect her.
